We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on a 3-year Health Research Board (HRB)-funded project within the Translational Cancer Research group of Dr Niamh Lynam-Lennon at the Dept. of Biology, Maynooth University.This project aims to investigate the role of key complement components in the pathogenesis and treatment resistance of rectal cancerutilising tumour tissue and blood samples from rectal cancer patients attending national and international treatment centres.

Importantly, this project will determine the potential role of complement components as novel predictorsof response to neoadjuvant treatment in rectal cancer patientsand will also determine the relationship between complement and key immune cells in the tumour microenvironment to identify novel combination immunotherapy and neoadjuvant treatment approaches for those patients who are resistant to the current standard of care.

Post Doctoral Researcher Level 1 (2026) Salary Scale:€48,691p.a. (1 point- with increment)
