Job summary

Labyrinth Recruitment is sourcing a Pharmacy Technician for a family-run pharmacy in Cork, Ireland. The role requires a Pharma Tech qualification, English fluency, and at least 12 months of experience. You will dispense medications, assist customers, handle stock, and maintain records in a busy pharmacy environment.

Full-time position with salary details: net 2,265€ per month (31,200€ gross per year, 15€ per hour gross). Weekly pay, accommodation support for newcomers at 650€ monthly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent in a science field.
  • Excellent level of English – compulsory.
  • At least 12 months of Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Assistant experience.
  • Ability to work methodically, conscientiously, and accurately in a busy environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic manner.

Responsibilities

  • Handing out prescriptions to customers and providing general assistance.
  • Locating, dispensing, packing, and labelling prescribed medication for a patient, reviewed for accuracy by a Pharmacist.
  • Assisting the Pharmacist by accurately receiving, recording, and assembling prescriptions.
  • Providing professional and empathetic assistance to customers regarding medicines and OTC products.
  • Processing payments.
  • Maintaining pharmacy records and ensuring documentation is up to date.
  • Managing stock, including monitoring shortages, placing orders with wholesalers, checking deliveries, stock rotation, and removing outdated medicines.
  • Ensuring any errors or safety issues are brought to the attention of the Supervising Pharmacist.
  • Maintaining professional standards in line with SOPs.
  • Creating, promoting, and maintaining good relationships with the pharmacy team, customers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participating in training and development programmes as required.
  • Assisting the pharmacy team with other projects and duties when required.

Candidate requirements
  • High school diploma as a Pharmacy Technician or equivalent science qualification is required ( Pharmacy Technician course)

  • Ensuring any errors or safety issues are brought to the attention of the Supervising Pharmacist
  • Maintaining consistent professional standards in line with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Creating, promoting, and maintaining good relationships with the pharmacy team, customers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participating in training and development programmes as required
  • Assisting the pharmacy team with other projects and duties when required
About the job
  • Full-time position
  • Starting salary after tax in Ireland for this Pharmacist role will be 2,265 € net per month (31,200 € gross; before tax, per year), starting at 15 € per hour gross. (to be reviewed after trial period)
  • Salary is paid weekly (522 € net per week)
  • If moving to Ireland from abroad, you will be provided guaranteed accommodation, which you will pay 650 € per month for a private single room in a staff accommodation house.
