Job summary

Apleona Ireland is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our pharmaceutical site in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork. The role covers overseeing all HSEQ aspects across the site and leading ISO certifications and audits.

Key duties include organizing safety training, developing monthly safety topics, conducting COSHH assessments, and coordinating with regulators. A proactive leader with strong problem-solving skills is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum level 7 degree or higher diploma in health and safety.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an EHS management or senior EHS advisory role, ideally in a client-facing environment.
• Experience working with management systems i.e. ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO9001.
• Membership of IOSH (or working towards) or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft IT applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of HSEQ across the sites.
• Lead ISO Certification and Audits.
• Organize Health and Safety training and manage the training matrix.
• Develop monthly safety alerts and toolbox talks.
• Carry out COSHH assessments and chemical handling training.
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Develop procedures and SOPs for on-site teams.
