Job Objectives
We are seeking applications for the role of Person in Charge, who will support the Centre on a full‑time contract. The role suits experienced candidates with strong organisational and management skills, or those wishing to progress in a progressive organisation. Candidates must be suitably qualified, skilled and experienced in managing a team in a social or healthcare setting and hold the necessary responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of services in line with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Personal Plans, Risk Assessments and Behavioural Support Plans are up to date and that services are always delivered to the highest possible quality and safety standards.
- Provide the highest quality of care and support to people who use this service.
- Meet regulation compliance in accordance with Health ACT 2007 and the Care and Support of Residents Regulation 2013.
- Manage the staff team to provide support and coordinate the input required from other individuals such as members of the Clinical Team and other departmental supports.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to the team daily. Formal supervisions, appraisals and monthly team meetings are undertaken under the Person in Charge’s control and supervision.
- Oversee the service across shifts to ensure effective and efficient services are delivered within the centre.
- Familiarise and adhere to local safety statements, risk assessments, standard operating procedures, all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain the highest level of infection control standards as directed by company policy and national best practice guidance.
- Be an active leader and role model for the team.
- Contribute to and maintain an effective team.
- Organise and participate in meetings, reviews and committees as required.
- Seek and provide guidance for work performed.
Qualification
- Level 7/8 Degree in a Health or Social related qualification (or suitable equivalent qualification with management qualification in healthcare).
- Full Clean Driver’s license.
Knowledge
- 3 years minimum managerial experience within a similar health or social care setting.
