Job summary

Hodson Bay Hotel in Ireland is seeking an ambitious Pastry Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team. You will contribute to pastry and dessert production, work with the daily specials, and help plan menus to delight guests.

The ideal candidate will have previous pastry experience, a genuine interest in patisserie, and a professional approach to service, quality, and hygiene. We offer opportunities to learn, staff meals, free parking, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in a similar Pastry Chef role.
• Background and interest in pastry.
• Qualification in Pastry is desirable.
• Courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of customer service.
• Detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the production of pastries and desserts in accordance with menu requirements.
• Be knowledgeable of the day’s business and specials.
• Assist in menu planning.
• Ensure timely preparation and presentation of dishes.
• Maintain high food hygiene and HACCP compliance.
• Report maintenance issues to your supervisor.

An exciting opportunity now exists for an ambitious Pastry Chef at Hodson Bay Hotel.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the production of pastries and desserts in accordance menu requirements.
• Be knowledgeable of the day's business.
• Be familiar with the menu and with any "specials" of the day.
• Participate in menu planning.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely fashion.
• Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen are prepared to the approved standard of presentation.
• Avoid unnecessary wastage, to observe proper portion planning and control and to act in a cost-effective, responsible manner.
• Ensure excellent food hygiene practice is observed in the entire food chain from storage through to preparation and service.
• Ensure HACCP compliance within the kitchen and all Food & Beverage outlets.
• Ensure the kitchen equipment is in working order; report any maintenance issues to your supervisor.

The Ideal candidate for this position

• Must have previous experience in a similar position

• Qualification in Pastry is desirable
