Job summary

Odyssey Social Care Ltd is a leading provider of children’s residential care in Ireland, seeking a Children’s Residential Care Worker to support young people with complex needs in a frontline role.

You will implement behaviour support plans, support education and daily routines, and help development of life skills in a structured, nurturing environment. Requires relevant social care qualifications and a clean driving licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or equivalent.
• QQI Level 8 in Psychology or related fields is desirable.
• Professional qualifications in child/adolescent mental health fields are considered.
• Teaching or nursing qualifications may be relevant.
• Additional relevant certifications considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans, Placement Plans, and risk assessments.
• Provide trauma-informed, child-centred residential care.
• Support education, routines and school engagement for young people.
• Promote life skills, independence and emotional regulation.
• Maintain accurate daily records and incident reports.
• Communicate with parents, social workers, schools and referral agents.
• Participate in supervision, training and service development.
• Assist with domestic routines and maintaining a homely environment.
• Manage petty cash and follow financial procedures.
• Uphold safeguarding and TUSLA standards.
