Job summary

Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) invites applications for an hourly paid, part-time Assistant Lecturer in Technology Education on a specific purpose contract for Semester II. The post will involve delivering high-quality teaching across technology education subjects and supporting practical sessions on campus.

Ideal candidates will hold a Level 8 degree with honours, a Level 9 Master’s degree, and be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland (or eligible).

Qualifications

• Relevant degree (level 8) with First- or Second-Class Honours from a recognised third level institution; or equivalent professional qualification and Not Less than 3 years relevant post qualification experience.
• Hold a Master’s Degree (Level 9) in a relevant area.
• Full Teaching Council of Ireland Registration in relevant subject areas (or eligible for full registration).
• Record of research engagement.
• Experience of teaching the technological subjects at post-primary level.
• Competency in Mechatronics/Electrotechnology, Product/Industrial Design, Graphics, CAD/CAM, or Process Technology.
