Job summary

Portmarnock Gp Clinic in Portmarnock, Ireland, is seeking a Practice Nurse for a long-term, part-time position (up to 20–24 hours per week) starting September 2026. The role offers a supportive, multidisciplinary environment and opportunities to upskill, with mentoring provided by an experienced Practice Nurse and GP trainer.

Hours are Wednesday and Thursday, full days, with potential for further duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) currently registered with the NMBI, minimum 2 years' experience.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; hardworking, conscientious team player.
• Valid permission to work in Ireland (EU/EEA, Stamp 4/1G).
• Desirable previous experience in GP is ideal but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy.
• Childhood and adult vaccinations.
• Cervical screening.
• Chronic disease management.
• Skin and wound care; suture removal.
• Telephone triage and patient advice.
• ECGs and 24-hour ABPM.
• Injection administration.
• Clinical stock management.
• Clinical administration using GP software.
