Position Available: Kitchen Assistant in Borris Lodge Nursing Home - Carlow

We are currently inviting applications for the role of Kitchen Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join one of Ireland’s leading private nursing home operators.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, contributing to the delivery of high-quality meals and services to our residents. This position offers genuine career development potential.

Comprehensive in-house training will be provided, along with opportunities for further professional development.

About The Role
Job Requirements
  • To maintain the catering department and all its associated areas, in a clean and hygienic manner and to ensure a tidy, warm, inviting and correctly set dining room
  • To adhere to and apply by the principles of Basic Food Hygiene and HACCP.
  • To cook as required under supervision and serve the meals.
  • To ensure excellence in the presentation of food.
  • To ensure a well‑stocked kitchen while being economic with resources.
  • To encourage other staff to be economic in the use of resources
  • To ensure that a ‘home‑like’ environment and atmosphere is maintained where the resident is seen as the central figure in all decision making, ensuring that their right to individuality, privacy, dignity, independence, and choice is always maintained.
  • Must have HACCP level 1 & 2
