Patient Care:
Provide medical care to children, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of various conditions.
Multi-Disciplinary Team:
Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals (nurses, specialists, etc.) to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Clinical Duties:
Participate in acute general paediatrics, including CAU/ED cover, general paediatric outpatient clinics, and ward duties.
On-Call & Weekend Cover:
Participate in on-call duties and weekend cover as required by the hospital's needs.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Audit & Risk Management:
Participate in clinical audits, risk management activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
Professional Development:
Enhance knowledge and skills in paediatric medicine through continuous professional development and engagement with sub-specialties.
Medical Degree: Hold a recognized medical degree and be registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
Paediatric Experience: Relevant experience in paediatrics, often including experience in acute care settings.
Registration: Active registration with the IMC is mandatory.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
