Job summary

National Vehicle Distribution is seeking a professional HGV driver to transport goods between Ireland and the UK, ensuring timely deliveries while upholding safety and compliance. The role requires sleeping in the cab overnight and managing documentation for tachograph and vehicle checks.

The ideal candidate will have full HGV CE (Artic) license with CPC, practical driving experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. Opportunities for training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Full HGV CE (Artic) License with Digital Tachograph and CPC card.
• Previous professional driving experience (HGV CE Artic or similar).
• Willingness to drive Ireland to UK.
• Experience sleeping in the cab overnight.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Understanding health and safety regulations.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Good knowledge of Ireland geography.
• Proficient with mobile apps, scanners, and email.

Responsibilities

• Follow planned routes to ensure timely service and report changes.
• Sleep overnight in the vehicle en route to delivery and collection points.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks for roadworthiness.
• Drive safely complying with current Road Transport Regulations.
• Safely load and unload at delivery and collection points.
• Maintain tachograph paperwork and compliance.
