Job summary

Muddy Boots Outdoor Preschool in Clarinbridge, Co. Galway, seeks an AIM Support Worker on a temporary contract to support a child under the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM). The role includes outdoor and indoor settings across a 38-week preschool year with additional holiday camps.

Applicants should hold QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care & Education, Garda Vetting, First Aid and Manual Handling certs, with a genuine passion for inclusive practice and outdoor learning.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Early Childhood Care and Education qualification is required.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, flexible and caring attitude.
• Willingness to work outdoors throughout the year.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and Garda Vetting.
• Experience in AIM roles is desirable.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Knowledge of Aistear and Síolta.
• First Aid and Manual Handling certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support to a child under the Access and Inclusion Model (AIM).
• Encourage the child's participation in all aspects of preschool life.
• Support the child's independence, communication, confidence and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively with the Room Leader, Manager and wider staff team.
• Assist with planning and adapting activities to ensure they are inclusive and accessible.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate observations and records where required.
• Follow all policy procedures and safeguarding requirements.
• Participate in outdoor learning in all seasons and weather conditions.
