Job summary

Designer Group seeks an OSM Operations Manager to take full responsibility for the safe, efficient, and commercially controlled operation of the Kells facility. You will oversee manufacturing of mechanical, electrical, fabricated and modular assemblies for Designer Group projects, ensuring quality, cost, programme and installation sequencing meet requirements.

You will develop the Kells operation into a profitable, scalable manufacturing unit supporting increased volumes and wider product range,

Qualifications

Degree or technical qualification in a relevant discipline.
Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management, Health & Safety or Quality Management advantageous.
Significant management experience in manufacturing, fabrication, modular construction, MEP prefabrication or similar environment.
Proven responsibility for day-to-day operation of a production facility or major manufacturing function.
Strong experience in production planning, labour management, materials, quality, safety and delivery.
Knowledge of manufacturing cost control and budgeting.
Experience improving productivity, throughput, quality or profitability.
Track record of introducing processes and controls in growing or changing operations.
Experience leading multidisciplinary manufacturing and technical teams.
Ability to manage competing project demands within finite capacity.
Strong understanding of health and safety in manufacturing or engineering.
High commercial awareness and understanding of financial impact of operational decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead the safe, efficient and commercially controlled day-to-day operation of the Kells OSM facility.
Plan and manage manufacture of mechanical, electrical, fabricated and modular assemblies to project requirements.
Develop and maintain production schedules aligned to project demand and capacity.
Own facility performance across safety, quality, cost and delivery.
Build robust production planning, work control, testing, storage and delivery processes.
Collaborate with Project, Engineering, BIM and Design teams to ensure updated technical information supports production.
Promote DfMA, standardisation and repeatable production methods.
Manage labour, supervision, materials, equipment and space for current and forecast demand.
Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure material availability.
Monitor budgets, costs, margins and operational performance; support forecasting and investment decisions.
Lead health, safety, environmental and quality performance across manufacturing and logistics.
Implement lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives to boost productivity and quality.
Build and lead a multidisciplinary OSM team with clear roles and performance targets.
Ensure finished products are packed, stored, transported and delivered per programmes and site requirements.
Develop reporting, dashboards and governance controls to support decision-making and future growth.
