Job summary

The Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic in Lucan, Co. Dublin, is seeking a Consultant CNS Nursing role focused on oncology.

The post demands high-level clinical expertise, senior nursing leadership within a treatment-focused MDT, and a commitment to education and evidence-based practice. The successful candidate will influence service development, quality improvement and patient-centred care across primary and secondary care interfaces.

Qualifications

• Be registered in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.
• Have at least five years post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting (full-time or equivalent).
• Have a level 8 QQI/NFQ major award relevant to oncology nursing (or be willing to complete within one year).

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist oncology nursing care.
• Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Coordinate investigations, treatment therapies and follow-up with the MDT.
• Communicate with patients and families to assess needs and provide support and counselling.
• Mentor and precept nursing colleagues; provide education and training.
• Develop and maintain education programmes and resources.
