Job description

Medforce Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join the Wicklow Mental Health Team based in Wicklow Town. This is an excellent opportunity for an OT with an interest in mental health to work as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, person-centred care to adults experiencing mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:
  • Carry out occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and evaluations for individuals referred to the service.
  • Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans that promote recovery, independence, and meaningful occupation.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers.
  • Contribute to care planning meetings and case reviews.
  • Support service users in developing skills related to daily living, vocational engagement, and community participation.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements for the Occupational Therapist:
  • Hold a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with CORU as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to own transport.
  • Experience working within adult mental health or related settings is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
