Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Ireland is seeking an NPI Procurement Engineer to join our global procurement team in Swords, supporting the development and manufacture of world-class laboratory diagnostic instruments used by healthcare providers around the globe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science; or related manufacturing/procurement background.
• Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Product Development or Procurement Engineering.
• Understanding of supplier manufacturing processes and technologies.
• Experience supporting supplier selection and sourcing decisions in technical environments.
• Strong commercial awareness and proven supplier engagement and negotiation capability.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Procurement teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept to product launch, ensuring supply chain readiness and supplier engagement.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Quality and Supply Chain to meet milestones.
• Influence part design, manufacturing technology selection, and sourcing decisions to optimize quality, cost and manufacturability.
• Drive Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) and promote supplier innovation throughout development.
• Lead DfMA, DtC, VE and cost optimization activities.
• Conduct supplier sourcing and RFQ activities to identify best Total Cost of Ownership.
• Manage tooling programs from quotation through production approval.
• Support engineering change management and assess supply chain impacts.
• Develop strong supplier relationships with strategic partners to improve capability and performance.
