Job summary

Astreya is seeking a Network Operations Engineer II to troubleshoot, restore, and maintain Optical and IP networks in a 24x7 environment. You will own incidents from detection through restoration, coordinate with vendors, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires hands-on skills with DWDM/CWDM, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and experience with Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Nokia or Infinera gear. A degree and 3–5 years in NOC environments are expected.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in network operations with hands-on optical/IP networks in a NOC or carrier environment.
  • Solid knowledge of IP routing and switching (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPv4/IPv6).
  • Experience with multi-vendor equipment (Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Nokia, Infinera) and their CLIs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex incidents independently under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the second-level escalation point for optical and IP network incidents.
  • Independently troubleshoot and restore service for complex incidents.
  • Own incidents end-to-end including stakeholder communication and vendor engagement.
  • Plan and execute scheduled maintenance and network changes within change management.
  • Mentor Network Operations Engineers I and contribute to knowledge-base content.
