Job summary

Amach in Dublin is seeking an experienced Network Manager to design secure, scalable LAN/WAN architectures and lead a team of engineers in a hybrid work environment.

You will oversee data centre networks, SD-WAN, IPv4/IPv6, DNS/DHCP, and cloud connectivity across AWS/Azure, while driving incident response and security alignment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a network architecture or management role within enterprise environments.
• Proven experience delivering scalable, supportable, and highly available network solutions.
• Expertise in Data Centre Networking, WAN technologies, LAN/Wi-Fi segmentation, and Hybrid Cloud Networking.
• Experience with Network Monitoring Tools and cybersecurity planning and secure network design.
• Strong understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and IPv4/IPv6, DNS/DHCP.
• Familiarity with IaC (Terraform) and ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network engineers and technicians.
• Oversee stability, scalability, and security of LAN/WAN, wireless, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Provide tier 3 escalation support and act as technical escalation point.
• Plan and oversee network-related projects and BAU activities.
• Collaborate with project managers to define timelines and deliverables.
• Engage stakeholders and report on network plans, incidents and risks.
• Develop forecasts and dashboards showing performance and uptime.

This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in designing secure, scalable and highly available network architectures across enterprise environments. You will play a key role in shaping high-level designs and supporting the implementation of complex networking solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Network Manager to join our team in Dublin on a hybrid working model.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years in a network architecture or management role within enterprise environments
• Proven experience delivering scalable, supportable, and highly available network solutions
• Demonstrable expertise in:
  • Data Centre Networking
  • WAN technologies (MPLS, DMVPN, SD-WAN)
  • LAN/Wi-Fi segmentation and performance optimisation
  • Hybrid Cloud Networking (AWS, Azure)
  • Network Monitoring Tools (e.g., Opsgenie, Prometheus, SolarWinds)
  • Cybersecurity Planning and Secure Network Design
• Strong understanding of IPv4/IPv6, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and DNS/DHCP
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) is a plus
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems

Role & responsibilities include:

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network engineers and technicians
• Set team objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support professional development
• Allocate resources and assign project tasks based on skill sets, availability, and business priorities

Operational Oversight

• Oversee the stability, scalability, and security of LAN/WAN, wireless, cloud, and hybrid environments
• Maintain and optimise network management, monitoring, and incident response processes
• Provide tier 3 escalation support and serve as a technical escalation point for complex issues

Project & Resource Management

• Plan, prioritise, and oversee the execution of network-related projects and BAU activities
• Collaborate with project managers to define timelines, milestones, and deliverables
• Track team workloads and proactively adjust resources to meet changing demands

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a key liaison between the network team and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organisational goals
• Communicate network plans, incidents, and risks to senior management and technical leads
• Provide regular updates and status reports to key stakeholders

Forecasting & Reporting

• Maintain accurate forecasts of resource requirements and capacity planning
• Develop and deliver reporting dashboards that reflect performance, uptime, incident resolution, and ongoing initiatives
• Work with lead architects to create high-level designs and provide input into low-level implementation details
• Support cybersecurity initiatives by ensuring network designs align with security standards and compliance frameworks
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within network operations
• Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and drive innovation within the team
