Eligibility

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity; no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

  • Dealing with the public in a welcoming and courteous fashion.
  • Operating the till system, issuing museum tickets, handling cash and credit cards.
  • Answering the phone in a professional and polite manner.
  • Handing out audio guides while explaining how they work to visitors.
  • Organising guides and staff so that guided tours run on time.
  • Cleaning and maintaining reception and retail space in the museum.
  • Working between Bishop's Palace Museum and Medieval Museum; when reception is not busy, ensuring visitors are satisfied and guiding themselves around the museum.
  • Adapting to open schedule: Waterford Treasures is open 7 days a week, including bank holidays; staff need to be flexible.
