Job summary

SignaCare Killerig is seeking a Multi-Task Assistant to support residents in a luxury nursing home located between Carlow and Tullow. The role involves assisting with daily activities, meals, and engaging residents in activities, under nursing supervision.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily activities and general needs, excluding direct personal care.
• Assist with mealtimes, including preparing dining areas, service of meals and drinks, and supporting residents with eating under supervision.
• Maintain residents' rooms by changing beds and tidying spaces with consent.
• Assist with linen, toiletries and other household supplies.
• Support admissions and discharges, recording personal belongings.
• Encourage engagement through conversations, games, music, dancing, walks and chair-based exercises.
• Report accidents, incidents or concerns immediately to the Nurse in Charge.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy, dignity and rights.

Purpose of the Role

To support the delivery of a high-quality, homely and engaging environment for residents by assisting with their daily needs, promoting their independence, dignity and choice, and supporting the nursing and care teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily activities and general needs, excluding direct personal care.


• Assist with mealtimes, including preparing dining areas, serving meals and drinks, and supporting residents with eating where required under the direction of the HCA/Nurse.


• Maintain residents' rooms, including changing beds, tidying rooms and wardrobes with residents' consent.


• Assist with linen, toiletries and other household supplies.


• Support resident admissions and discharges, including recording personal belongings.


• Encourage resident engagement through activities such as conversation, games, music, dancing, walking and chair-based exercises.


• Report any accidents, incidents or concerns immediately to the Nurse in Charge.


• Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy, dignity, choice and rights at all times.


• Follow all health and safety, infection control and nursing home policies and procedures.


• Work positively as part of the wider nursing home team and attend required training.


• Maintain a professional appearance and wear the correct uniform at all times.


• Help create a positive and welcoming environment where residents feel at home, with a focus on Food and Fun.
