Senior Modern Cloud Data Architect – Dublin, Ireland
Slalom Ireland is looking for a senior Modern Cloud Data Architect to join our Data & AI team. As a team member and architecture leader, you will define and architect the data and AI solutions our clients use to run and improve their business.
You will lead the architecture, design, and engineering of solutions, spanning modern data platforms and agentic AI systems built on top of them.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with client business and IT stakeholders, capture data, analytical and AI requirements and align technical solutions to business objectives.
- Act as lead data architect on agile projects to deliver transformative data and AI solutions aligned to industry best practices.
- Design and lead delivery of agentic AI solutions on the Microsoft stack, from low‑code agents in Copilot Studio to pro‑code orchestration in Microsoft Foundry.
- Architect how agents are deployed, observed and governed at scale, including identity, access control and lifecycle management through Microsoft Agent 365.
- Advise clients on where agents add value and where they don’t, grounding recommendations in business outcomes rather than platform features.
- Set technical standards for agent design, evaluation and safety across client engagements.
- Participate in cloud data architecture and technology maturity assessments, co‑create bold visions for the future and define enabling modern data architectures and data & AI solution roadmaps.
- Research, support, recommend and select technical approaches for solving complex development and integration problems.
- Support practice growth through business development, talent management, delivery oversight and thought leadership.
- Build and lead a team of cloud data architects and data engineers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of modern data architectures, cloud data platforms, data engineering, and the tools and processes that support them.
- Deep experience with the Microsoft data and AI stack: Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and ideally Microsoft Foundry for building and deploying AI agents.
- Hands‑on experience designing and shipping agentic AI solutions, including low‑code platforms such as Copilot Studio and pro‑code agent orchestration.
- Understanding of how agents are governed at enterprise scale: identity, access control, observability and lifecycle management (experience with Microsoft Agent 365 or comparable control‑plane tooling is a strong advantage).
- Strong experience with data governance and data strategy (essential).
- Experience with multiple data modelling techniques, data integration patterns, and underlying data and pipeline engineering.
- Experience with master data management as part of data architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD, ideally extended to deployment and evaluation of AI agents.
- Experience with additional cloud platforms beneficial (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS).
- Experience scoping, estimating and writing proposals for complex data and AI solutions.
- Experience hiring, leading and coaching people.
