Job summary

KILDARE COUNTRY TURKEYS LIMITED is seeking a Mixed Farm Operative to support daily farming activities in a rural Ireland setting. The role involves caring for livestock, assisting with crop production, and operating farm machinery in a safe, efficient manner.

The ideal candidate can work outdoors in all weather, understands animal welfare and farm safety, and communicates effectively in English. Previous mixed farming experience is desirable and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Care for livestock, including feeding, watering, bedding, health monitoring, and routine husbandry tasks.
• Assist with handling and moving livestock in accordance with animal welfare standards.
• Support crop production activities such as planting, fertilising, harvesting, and storing crops.
• Operate tractors, machinery, and farm equipment safely and perform basic maintenance.
• Maintain farm buildings, fences, gates, and other infrastructure.
• Monitor livestock, crops, and equipment, reporting any health, welfare, or maintenance issues.
• Follow biosecurity, food safety, environmental, and health and safety procedures.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and storing feed, fertiliser, and farm supplies.
• Work as part of a team to meet daily and seasonal production targets.

A Mixed Farm Operative supports the daily operation of a mixed farming enterprise by carrying out livestock, crop, and general farm duties in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner.
