Job summary

TechHeads is seeking a Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer on a contract basis to assist with migrating data and workloads from on-premise systems into Microsoft Fabric. The role is hybrid with an immediate start and will involve hands-on delivery from day one.

You will handle data ingestion, transformation, and Fabric engineering, working with the existing data team to ensure analytics-ready data across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers. Strong Fabric expertise is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience migrating data from on-premise to Fabric.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience.
• Experience with Medallion Architecture and PySpark.

Responsibilities

• Migrate data from on-premise environments into Microsoft Fabric.
• Build and manage data ingestion from Excel/CSV files, APIs and other data sources.
• Develop ETL/data transformation processes using Medallion Architecture – Bronze, Silver and Gold.
• Develop and work with Fabric Notebooks and PySpark.
• Build semantic models within Microsoft Fabric.
• Support Data Warehouse and wider Fabric migration activities.
• Work closely with the existing Data Engineer and Data Analysts, ensuring data is available and structured for analytics.
• Provide input on Fabric best practice and solution design as required.

Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer – Contract

Up to 6 Month Day Rate Contract | Hybrid | Immediate Start

TechHeads is partnering with an established organisation seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to provide additional support across a number of live data engineering and migration projects.

This is a hands-on position for someone who can join quickly, hit the ground running and work alongside an established Data team as they continue migrating data and workloads from on-premise environments into Microsoft Fabric.

The Role

You will initially work from existing solution designs, taking ownership of delivery across data ingestion, transformation and Microsoft Fabric engineering. As you become established, there will also be opportunities to contribute to best practice and solution design across larger data migration projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Migrate data from on-premise environments into Microsoft Fabric.
• Build and manage data ingestion from Excel/CSV files, APIs and other data sources.
