Job description
Overview

R&D Partners is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Manager to oversee and guide the transition from research and development to full-scale commercial manufacturing at a pharmaceutical facility. This role focuses on leading microbiology operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving efficiency in quality control processes. This is an on-site position as the company transitions from R&D to commercial manufacturing.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and manage microbiology testing processes and laboratory infrastructure.
  • Lead the design and establishment of microbiology laboratories, including team management and resource allocation.
  • Oversee updates to microbiological methods and specifications.
  • Manage investigations related to microbiology and support technical transfers between sites.
  • Coordinate external laboratory testing to align with internal quality standards.
  • Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure compliance with microbiology regulations.
  • Work with various departments to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Support leadership development within Quality Control and Analytical R&D teams.
  • Expand inhalation microbiology capabilities in collaboration with global teams.
  • Assist senior leadership in scaling quality control operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and resource use.
Key Skills and Requirements
  • A degree in Microbiology or a related field.
  • 10 years of experiecnce in laboratory environments with a focus on GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • 3 years of experience in people management / leadership roles.
  • Experience as Lead Auditor with HPRA and FDA.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
