Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment in Limerick is seeking a Project Engineer to provide engineering support for the development or improvement of equipment and process activities in a GMP manufacturing environment.

You will manage small to medium projects, prepare budgets, evaluate technology, execute validations, negotiate with suppliers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in production, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent qualification).
• At least 3 years’ experience as a Manufacturing or Project Engineer in a GMP-regulated environment.
• Experience with equipment/process validation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Project management and communication expertise.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Desirable: Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment, process development, and knowledge of ISO safety standards.
• Desirable: Familiarity with statistical process control, ‘black belt’ statistical techniques, ANOVA/DOE methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for development or improvement of equipment and process activities.
• Manage small to medium scale projects, including budgets, evaluating necessary technology, and proposing solutions to management and stakeholders.
• Support and/or develop and execute equipment or process validations in accordance with site requirements and procedures.
• Negotiate with equipment suppliers and utilize project management tools such as URS and Microsoft Project to deliver successful results.
• Become a recognized local expert by developing an in-depth understanding of equipment, processes, and products.
• Analyze equipment efficiencies and propose improvement projects to increase compliance, efficiency, and productivity.
• Investigate and resolve equipment/process non-conformances, ensuring effective closure on all quality documentation.
• Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure day-to-day requirements are met.
• Implement safety and environmental requirements on all new and existing equipment purchases or changes.
