Mechanical Project Engineer – Cavan – Up to €67,000 plus bonus

An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organisation based in Cavan. Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will support the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of equipment critical to the continued development and improvement of the manufacturing process.

The Role
  • Research and evaluate design proposals, specifications, and data to assess feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements
  • Design, specify, and modify system components to meet engineering and performance standards
  • Champion Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies across all engineering activities
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement procedures and resolve system malfunctions
  • Procure, install, operate, and maintain mechanical equipment and systems
  • Investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and recommend solutions to maintenance teams
  • Conduct testing and research to evaluate equipment design and performance
  • Prepare technical documentation, instructions, drawings, and specifications using WCM principles
  • Ensure projects meet agreed budgets, timelines, and specifications
The Person
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
  • Strong ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and documentation
  • Good knowledge of lean manufacturing
  • Proficient in CAD
