Job summary

MSL Engineering Ltd in Ireland is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to lead piping construction activities onsite, develop packing lists, and coordinate with disciplines. You will use Navisworks for 3D modeling, review P&IDs and isometrics, report progress weekly, and ensure timely handover of piping systems to the client.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in construction engineering or a similar supervisory role, with strong field coordination and documentation skills to support

Qualifications

• Min 3-5 years’ experience in construction engineering or trade supervisor role.
• Strong piping knowledge including isometrics and P&IDs.
• Experience coordinating between mechanical and other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop piping and equipment construction work packs.
• Sign off piping test packs for pre-test and post-test activities.
• Record field welds for weld histories.
• Coordinate onsite between Mechanical and other Disciplines.
• Progress reporting for the area and gather variation data.
• Ensure equipment is installed correctly within the area.
• Support QA to hand over piping systems to client on schedule.

• You will report directly to the Construction Manager/Lead Engineer
• Involvement in some or all the following aspects of Mechanical Contracting –Safety, Construction, Quality and Commercial Issues.
• Development of piping and equipment construction work packs
• Sign off piping test packs for pre-test. Pressure test and post-test activities
• Recording of field welds for weld histories for inclusion within piping test packs
• Onsite co-ordination between Mechanical and other Disciplines.
• Responsible for all engineering in a defined area of construction
• Resolving engineering queries in the field
• Work with MSL piping supervisor to progress construction in their area
• Weekly Progress reporting of their specific area
• Weekly Variation reporting (Gathering this info from the area supervisor to give it to MSL Cost engineer)
• Familiarise with scope of MSL contract to monitor possible our potential variation work on site
• Ensure equipment is installed correctly within their area
• Use of Navisworks 3D model to provide all necessary technical back up to their area piping supervisor
• Ensuring all material, fabricated pipe spools and supports is on site are required for their area to follow the project schedule
• Working with MSL QA lead to ensure piping systems within their area is handed over to client on schedule
• Excellent knowledge of piping isometrics and P&IDs is essential
• Min 3-5 years’ experience in construction engineering or trade supervisor role
