Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Packaging) based in Ireland. You will report to the Packaging Team Lead and provide design support for new and existing projects within a dynamic, collaborative team.

Work with CSI, Sales, Production and Logistics on new designs and sample runs; plan and execute the Design Centre Work Schedule to ensure samples meet quality standards; manage ECOs, tooling layouts and production drawings; and participate in customer site visits with

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in design or engineering, ideally within packaging or related industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software and strong attention to detail with documentation control.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the design function on new and existing projects.
• Act as a key contact for CSI/Sales, Production and Logistics on designs and sample runs.
• Plan, prioritise and execute the Design Centre Work Schedule to meet quality standards.
• Manage documentation for Engineering Change Orders, tooling layouts/quotes, and production drawings.
• Create or modify artwork and participate in customer site visits with sales reps.
• Oversee Design Centre updates, stock levels, lab presentation and waste management.
• Implement quality control systems and comply with ISO Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety standards.
• Support maintenance of Test Lab & Design Centre equipment including calibration and software updates.
• Assist with CAD Table Operative training and project work with the US Team.
• Attend relevant classes or seminars and perform additional duties as required by management.

About Your New Job

What Skills You Need
