Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Major Component Replacement Technician to perform service, maintenance, and major component exchanges on ENERCON wind turbines across Ireland and the UK. This is a travelling role with project durations typically 4–6 weeks each, requiring strong safety focus and ability to work in diverse weather conditions.

You will join the Update Support Team, inspecting components, coordinating with subcontractors, and handling installation tasks.

Qualifications

  • Full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Experience on wind farm sites is highly advantageous.
  • Valid Safe Pass Card is essential.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and internationally as required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

ENERCON are now recruiting for a Major Component Replacement Technician to work on updates of wind turbines across Ireland & The UK.

This is a travelling role with expected projects lasting 4-6 weeks at a time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with ENERCON’s safety standards, guidelines, and operational procedures at all times.
  • Perform service, maintenance, and major component exchanges on ENERCON wind turbines to guarantee optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate within the Update Support Team, delivering high-quality work on wind energy sites across Ireland and occasionally abroad.
  • Execute physically demanding tasks in diverse weather conditions while maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Inspect and verify components to uphold ENERCON’s stringent manufacturing and quality standards.
  • Handle mechanical installation tasks for turbine updates and installation projects with precision and care.
  • Coordinate effectively with subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to timelines.
  • Adapt to additional duties as directed by the MCR Manager or Team Leader to support project success.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Previous experience on wind farm sites is highly advantageous.
  • Trade qualification (Carpenter, Mechanic) or strong construction background preferred.
  • Valid Safe Pass Card is essential.
  • Additional certifications such as Banksman/Slinger, CSCS Card, Telescopic Loader Ticket, and/or MEWP are a distinct advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications for reporting and documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights in challenging conditions.
  • High mobility and flexibility – willingness to travel nationwide and internationally as required.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Positive, proactive team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Location

The ideal candidate will be living less than 45 mins from an ENERCON base and must be flexible and willing to travel frequently and sometimes at short notice.
