Job summary

Timoney Dynamic Solutions Limited in Navan, Co. Meath, is seeking a practical Manufacturing Engineer to support development, setup and improvement of controlled manufacturing and assembly processes at its Navan facility.

This hands-on role collaborates with Engineering, Production and Quality to turn designs into efficient, repeatable production methods. Responsibilities include translating drawings into routings and work instructions, creating SOPs, supporting tooling and jig development, and

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Experience in automotive/defense/off-highway environments is advantageous.
• Ability to translate drawings into production processes.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and quality systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing and assembly processes for engineered vehicle systems, components, spares and related assemblies.
• Translate engineering drawings, specifications and bills of materials into practical manufacturing methods, routings and work instructions.
• Create and maintain assembly procedures, standard operating procedures, inspection points and production documentation.
• Support the design, specification and introduction of jigs, fixtures, tooling, lifting aids and assembly equipment.
• Assist with production area setup, workstation layout, material flow and factory process improvement.
• Work with Engineering to improve manufacturability, assembly efficiency and serviceability.
• Support new product introduction, engineering changes and production readiness activities.
• Work with Quality to define process controls, inspection requirements, traceability points and corrective actions.
• Support Procurement and Supply Chain with technical input on supplier capability, component requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
• Help maintain accurate ERP/MRP manufacturing data, including routings, bills of materials, standard times and work centre information.
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce build time, rework, waste, handling issues and production bottlenecks.
• Support and train production personnel in new or revised manufacturing methods, tooling and work instructions.
• Ensure manufacturing processes are safe, controlled and aligned with quality and operational requirements.

About the Role

Timoney is seeking a practical and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support the development, setup and improvement of controlled manufacturing and assembly processes at its Navan facility.

This is a key role within the manufacturing function, supporting the Head of Manufacturing in turning engineering designs into efficient, repeatable and quality-controlled production processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure Timoney products are built safely, efficiently and to the required technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a practical manufacturing or process engineer who is comfortable working between the production floor, engineering office, suppliers and operational teams.

They should be structured, hands-on and technically capable, with the ability to turn complex engineering requirements into clear, controlled and repeatable manufacturing processes.

Experience in low-volume, high-value engineering or vehicle-related manufacturing would be particularly relevant.

Required Experience and Skills

• 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, process engineering or a similar technical role.
• Experience in engineering, automotive, defence, off-highway, heavy vehicle, aerospace, machinery, fabrication, machining or assembly environments would be highly advantageous.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, bills of materials and assembly requirements.
• Experience developing work instructions, routings, production methods, tooling, fixtures or assembly processes.
• Practical understanding of mechanical assembly, machining, fabrication, welding, painting, torque-controlled assembly, hydraulic systems or driveline components would be beneficial.
• Understanding of quality systems, inspection requirements, root-cause analysis and corrective action processes.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data would be advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to production support.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement and Supply Chain.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, process flow improvement or continuous improvement methods would be beneficial.

Qualifications

• Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant practical experience in a technical manufacturing environment will also be considered.
