Job summary

TOPPAN Security in Galway, Ireland, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimise production processes, equipment and systems, driving cost-effective quality improvements. You will partner with Operations and Engineering to support new products and technologies, troubleshoot issues and implement robust manufacturing practices.

You will lead installation, commissioning, validation and maintenance activities, develop documentation, and share best practices across global sites while collaborating

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with automation technologies, including PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, or vision systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
• Experience supporting manufacturing equipment, processes, and production systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience working with production IT systems is an advantage.
• Previous experience in RFID card manufacturing, secure printing, or a regulated manufacturing environment is desirable.
• Good written and spoken English.

About the role and what you’ll do

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and optimizing manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems to ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production. Working closely with Operations and Engineering teams, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, support new product introductions, and provide technical expertise across manufacturing operations.

About you

You are a proactive and hands‑on engineering professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and improving manufacturing performance. You combine strong analytical skills with a practical approach and work effectively with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality results in a fast‑paced production environment.

Experience and knowledge

• Third‑level qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• Minimum 3 year of experience in an automated manufacturing environment
• Experience with automation technologies, including PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, or vision systems
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
• Experience supporting manufacturing equipment, processes, and production systems
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Experience working with production IT systems is an advantage
