Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group is working with a medical device client in Galway to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12-month contract.

You will provide technical leadership, drive process improvements, support NPI, and partner with Quality and Engineering to deliver on time, quality and cost targets.

This role requires hands-on manufacturing experience, familiarity with GMP, MES, SAP and Windchill, and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ relevant engineering experience, ideally within the Medical Device industry or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience in equipment installation and qualification.
• Hands-on experience with process validation, including OQ/PQ.
• Strong technical, communication and teamwork skills, with the initiative to drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on product and process issues, driving improvements through the team’s VIP programme.
• Lead structured process improvement initiatives across people, service, quality and cost.
• Drive Lean initiatives and support continuous improvement across the operation.
• Partner with Quality and Engineering teams, both within the plant and across the wider corporation.
• Support new product introduction through phase reviews and NPE meetings.
• Provide ongoing manufacturing support to deliver quality, output and cost targets.
• Maintain an accurate capacity model with the Line Supervisor and plan capital requirements in advance.
• Lead project planning and execution for major projects, product/process transfers and capacity or sustaining programmes.
• Develop and maintain GMP-compliant technical documentation in collaboration with the wider team.
• Evaluate new equipment, processes and chemicals with EHS to minimise environmental impact.
