Role
Reporting to the Ireland Transfer Agency Reconciliations, Settlements and Banking Services Manager, the Settlements team Manager will lead a multi‑location team responsible for the end‑to‑end oversight of Transfer Agency Payment Activities, ensuring all investor transactions are executed accurately within strict deadlines and in full compliance with regulatory, client and internal control requirements.
The role provides operational leadership across Ireland and offshore teams with accountability for risk, controls, service delivery and continuous improvement.
Principal Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day‑to‑day delivery of payment processing in adherence with Anti‑Money Laundering/Data Protection and Regulatory Reporting standards.
- Ensure all payments are completed accurately and within defined currency and cut‑off deadlines.
- Oversee daily processing, queues and exceptions.
- Drive adherence to client SLAs and internal KPIs.
- Develop goals, prepare and monitor schedule of assignments to ensure tasks are completed within established time‑frames, organise team workload, set short‑term priorities and monitor all activities.
- Ensure excellent communication between Ireland teams and counterparts in India, keeping India partners updated on all projects/changes and involving them in planning and decision‑making.
- Provide technical expertise for new accounts/funds and oversee them on an ongoing basis to ensure client needs are met.
- Assist clients and partners with complex problem resolution, consulting on effective ways to meet client needs or appropriate methods to resolve errors.
- Develop procedures for effective handling of new situations, ensuring operating procedures are established and staff adhere to them; enhance current procedures to improve productivity.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly management reports, gathering, compiling and analysing data.
- Review work for accuracy, ensure teams adhere to client specifications, communicate directly to staff on errors or processes in need of improvement, and direct staff on appropriate actions.
- Maintain technical knowledge of operations and how they relate to other operating areas.
- Perform operational activities where volume or absence warrants.
- Ensure all incident reporting is completed within required deadlines to a high standard, identify and implement preventative measures, and update procedures accordingly.
- Constantly analyse errors and near misses to eliminate trends.
- Attend client meetings and participate in preparation and presentations to clients.
- Keep accounts servicing losses to a minimum.
- Own and manage operational risk events, escalations and remediation actions.
- Lead audit readiness and represent Settlements during audits.
- Ensure a pass rating in all audits.
Skills / Experience
- A thorough understanding of the funds administration business and day‑to‑day Transfer Agency operations.
- Significant track record in a management role within a Transfer Agency or Shareholder Services function.
- Proven people management and change management skills.
- Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment to develop procedures and policies.
- Demonstrated leadership and team‑building qualities and the ability to motivate a team.
- Excellent communication, first‑class presentation and internal and external client‑servicing skills.
- Ability to lead and manage projects and system development as required.
- Provide training and coaching to team members as needed.
- Concern for quality, adherence to standards and procedures and promotion of best practices.
- Excellent understanding of effective risk management.
