We are seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Accountant to take responsibility for the overall financial accounting of LKQ Ireland, while also supporting the UK month-end close. This role involves ownership of monthly postings, variance analysis, and reporting to LKQ Europe, alongside ensuring accuracy and integrity across all balance sheet reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and process month-end close postings, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations for the Republic of Ireland (ROI).
- Support the production and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs for ROI to LKQ Corporation, including variance analysis.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly US GAAP accounting adjustments.
- Review management control compliance during close processes, ensuring submissions adhere to LKQ Corp policies.
- Respond to internal and external audit queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage and resolve VAT and Corporation Tax enquiries and perform related analysis for the ROI entity.
- Complete external reporting and submission requirements to Revenue and other government bodies.
- Safeguard the integrity of financial data shared across the business.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls and close procedures.
Skills And Experience
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant.
- Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
- Strong analytical ability with excellent Excel and data interpretation skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with non-finance colleagues.
- Capable of working independently, using initiative to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- A driven, hands-on individual with a commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.
- Experience managing a small team preferred.
- Background in FMCG, logistics, or multi-site operations is advantageous.
- Experience with US GAAP is desirable.
