Cork Simon Community in Cork is offering a development role as a Maintenance Assistant. No experience required; accredited training is provided to support your career.
The role involves assisting in the maintenance of Cork Simon Community’s premises to keep them in good repair and decoration, including general maintenance, repairs to door locks, glazing, and painting interiors. A Gardening-focused position is also available, with progression opportunities through CE sponsorship.
Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.
Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Duties include: general maintenance & repair, e.g. repairs to door locks, glazed panels and other fittings, painting of interiors of the buildings etc. A Maintenance Assistant position with a focus on gardening is also available. We can provide you with accredited training and development opportunities to help you progress into more regular employment. As a long standing CE sponsor, we have a good track record in this respect.
