Job summary

Medica Group in Ireland is seeking a Sonographer to join the ultrasound team, providing specialist obstetrics, gynaecology, and fertility imaging. You will perform and report scans independently and communicate findings to patients and referring clinicians.

The postholder will work in consultant-led private clinics, contributing to patient-centered care, quality assurance, and ongoing CPD while supporting the training of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Proficiency and experience in performing and reporting assessments for early pregnancy demise, measuring nuchal translucency, and performing mid-trimester detailed fetal anomaly scans.
• Ability to recognise ultrasound characteristics of fetal and pelvic anatomy and detect abnormalities.
• Comply with infection prevention protocols and provide patient-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality ultrasound services in obstetrics, gynaecology, and fertility practice as agreed with senior clinical leads.
• Perform and report scans independently, communicating findings to patients and referring clinicians.
• Attend departmental meetings, participate in CPD, and support training of junior staff.
