Job summary

Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic in Lucan, Co. Dublin, Ireland, is seeking a Staff Nurse/Enhanced Staff Nurse to join the St Marks Ward on a permanent full-time basis.

The role requires strong clinical skills, an NMBI registration, and a collaborative approach to nursing care. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years post-registration nursing experience in acute care and hold up-to-date Basic Life Support certification.

Qualifications

• Must be registered nurse with NMBI.
• Minimum 3 years post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Up-to-date Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong clinical and interpersonal communication skills.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of the nursing team on daily duty and perform duties as allocated by the CNM2.
• Deliver skilled practical care to patients and participate in planning, delivery and evaluation of individualized care.
• Provide holistic care and support to patients and their families.
• Maintain controlled drug records in accordance with policy and legal guidelines.
• Document care and events in the Meditech system and report incidents when required.
• Participate in staff meetings, team meetings and committees as required.

KeyResponsibilities

Operations:

• WorkasamemberofthenursingteamondaydutyandperformdutiesasallocatedbytheClinicalNurseManager2.
• Deliverskilledpracticalcaretopatientsandparticipateinthemonitoringoftheplanning,deliveryandevaluationofindividualisedpatientcare,ensuringapatientcentredfocus.
• Beawareofthemultifacetedneedsofpatientsandprovideaholisticsupportserviceforthemandtheirfamilies.
• Ensurethatcontrolleddrugrecordsarekeptinaccordancewithstandardrecognisedlegalandprofessionalpractice.
• EnsuresafepracticeisadheredtointhestorageandadministrationofalldrugsinaccordancewithlocalpolicyandDepartmentofHealth/NMBIguidelines,keepingpatientandstaffsafetyapriority.
• Beawareofthemultifacetedneedsofemergency,medicalandsurgicalpatientsandprovideaholisticsupportserviceforthemandtheirfamilies.
• Keepaccurate,comprehensive,up-datedrecordsandwrittenreportsasrequiredandguidedbyNMBIrecommendations.
• EnsurecorrectandeconomicaluseofUnitstocksandmaterialandthesafeandcorrectuseofallequipment.
• Ensurethesafekeepingofpatient’sbelongingsinaccordancewithhospitalpolicywherenecessary.
• DocumentallnecessarycaregivenontheMeditechPatientinformationsystem.
• Bewillingtobedeployedtootherareasofthehospitalifrequestedtodoso.
• DocumentandreporttotheCNM,inatimelyandcomprehensivemanner,anyincidents,accidents,nearmissesorcomplaintsandparticipateinanysubsequentinvestigationasrequested.
• Participateinstaffmeetings,teammeetingsandcommitteesasrequired
