Job summary

University College Cork invites applications for a permanent Lecturer (Above the Bar) in Social Work within the School of Applied Social Studies. The appointee will provide leadership in research and research-led teaching, contribute to securing competitive funding, supervise doctoral researchers and publish extensively.

The postholder will help build research capacity across the School, participate in European funding initiatives, and engage in dissemination activities, with CORU registration

Qualifications

• CORU registration as a Social Worker or eligibility to apply and secure CORU Social Work registration within six months of appointment.
• Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check will form part of the selection process.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in research and research-led teaching within the Social Work Programme and the wider School of Applied Social Studies.
• Engage in internationally impactful research through securing competitive research funding, supervising doctoral researchers and publishing high-quality work.
• Contribute to building research capacity across the School, including participation in European funding initiatives.
