Qualifications

  • Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and Confined Space certifications are a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail in documentation and reporting.

Job description

McBreen Environmental Drain Services Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Leak Detection Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team. We are looking for a proactive individual with strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of essential environmental services—from leak detection to Legionella testing and risk assessments. If you have a passion for solving client problems and delivering top-quality service, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with clients, including clearly explaining technical processes such as Legionella testing.
  • Undertake all aspects of leak detection in domestic and commercial environments using gas tracing and audio ground microphones.
  • Carry out pressure testing, water audits, hydrant testing, dry riser testing, and tank/reservoir cleaning and rehabilitation.
  • Accurately document all work using Geopal software.
  • Prepare detailed reports using Microsoft Word and Excel for submission to the office.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while adhering to company and client policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Health & Safety practices and demonstrate leadership when working as part of a team.
Desirable (Not Essential)
  • Plumbing or civil experience.
  • Previous experience in leak detection or related utility industries.
  • Knowledge of leak detection methodologies.
  • Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions for clients.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in documentation and reporting.
  • Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and Confined Space certifications.
  • Good IT and reporting skills; familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is an advantage.
