Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Senior Structural Design Engineer to lead steel design and connections for major building and infrastructure projects in Ireland and the UK. You will coordinate with fabrication and construction teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant designs.

The role requires deep knowledge of structural steelwork, Eurocode 3, and design software, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and contribute to project delivery.

Qualifications

• A Level 8 degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; master's is an advantage.
• Chartered status or path toward chartership is preferred.
• 3–5 years of solid structural steel design experience including connections.

Responsibilities

• Lead steel design and connections for major projects across Ireland and the UK.
• Review designs, drawings, 3D models for safety, efficiency and compliance.
• Coordinate with fabrication and construction teams to deliver projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and support design reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Represent the steelwork design discipline in client and reviewer meetings.
