Job summary

Mastercard Emerging Data Signals is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive design and delivery of innovative AI-enabled solutions for global customers. You will architect scalable, secure systems, champion automation, and partner with engineering, data, product, and operations teams to deliver strategic initiatives and superior customer outcomes.

You will apply modern web technologies and AI capabilities, providing SME leadership across regions.

Qualifications

• Strong Java or Python development expertise with solid OO design and architecture knowledge.
• Experience leveraging AI models, tools and technologies to improve delivery and quality.
• Familiarity with modern web tech (React/Node.js/NPM/Webpack/Jest) is advantageous.
• Passion for scalable, secure, maintainable architectures and future-ready designs.
• Proven experience in Agile with globally distributed teams and frequent releases.
• Knowledge of API design, integration patterns, and security models (auth, authz, data protection).
• Excellent collaboration and communication across regions and stakeholders.

Overview

• Mastercard Emerging Data Signals is a global product within Mastercard responsible for the delivery of new Innovative solutions by applying the latest AI models and technologies to develop optimized solutions that accelerate business value and operational efficiency.

Role

• Lead the planning, design, and delivery of innovative technical solutions for global internal and external customers.
• Drive innovation and research initiatives from concept through production, leveraging the latest AI models and emerging technologies to deliver optimized solutions that accelerate business value and operational efficiency.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient technology architectures that align with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
• Champion automation across the software delivery lifecycle, including build, deployment, configuration, validation, monitoring, and operational support.
• Collaborate closely with global engineering, data, product, and operations teams to successfully execute strategic initiatives and deliver business outcomes.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Emerging Data Signals (EDS), providing technical leadership and guidance to support customer integrations and solution adoption.
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and industry best practices to continuously improve platform performance, reliability, and customer experience.

All About You

• Strong Java or Python development expertise with a deep understanding of object-oriented design principles, software architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging the latest AI models, tools, and technologies to enhance software development, accelerate delivery, and improve solution quality.
• Experience with one of the modern web technologies, including React, Node.js, NPM, Webpack, or Jest, is advantageous.
• Passion for technical architecture and solution design, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, maintainable, performant, and adaptable to future business needs.
• Proven experience working in Agile environments with globally distributed teams, delivering high-quality software through frequent production releases and continuous deployment practices.
• Knowledge of API design, integration patterns, and security models, including authentication, authorization, and data protection standards, is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to balance innovation, technical excellence, and business outcomes.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, enabling effective engagement with engineering, product, operations, and customer stakeholders across multiple regions.
