Job summary

Air Apps in Lisbon is seeking a Software Architect / Solutions Architect to define and oversee the overall system architecture for our AI-powered platform. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and stakeholders to design scalable, secure, high-performing solutions aligned with business goals.

You will shape technology strategy, evaluate new tools, ensure best practices in software design, cloud infrastructure, and system integration.

Qualifications

• Around 6+ years of software development and architecture experience.
• Strong design, cloud, and microservices expertise.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in backend languages (Node.js, Python, Java, .NET) and modern frontend frameworks.
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL, caching, and data pipelines.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, API design, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of security, identity management, and encryption techniques.
• Familiarity with DevOps and IaC tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall architecture and system design for scalable software solutions.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams.
• Design and document high-level system diagrams, data flows, and API structures.
• Evaluate technologies, frameworks, and cloud services to optimize performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and security in architectural decisions.
• Oversee system integrations, including microservices, APIs, and third-party services.
• Work with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure reliable deployment and operation.
• Establish coding and architecture standards for maintainability and scalability.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks for resilience and growth.
• Conduct architecture reviews and performance audits to improve efficiency.
