Job summary

Real is seeking a Lead Engineer/Scientist to join its R&D team in Limerick on a 12-month contract, with potential extensions. The role focuses on leading the embolic design element of a drug-device combination project and requires formulation experience with hydrogels, injectables and PFS, plus a polymer background and lab methods expertise.

• Rate of €50–€65 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the embolic design element of the project.
• Head the R&D team in development of drug-device combination products.
• Oversee formulation work for hydrogels, injectables, and pre-filled syringes (PFS).
• Collaborate on polymer-based laboratory methods and characterization.
• Support transition to later-stage development if extended.

A global medical device company are looking for a Lead Engineer / Scientist to join their Research and Development team on a contract basis. The purpose of the role is to lead the design of the embolic design element of the project. Leading a team in the development of drug-device combination products with a focus on the drug side. This is an early stage R&D role requiring formulation experience for hydrogels, injectables and pre filled syringes (PFS). You will need to have a polymer background and experience of laboratory methods.

Required Skills:

• Polymer / chemistry background
• Sustained release or hydrogel based formulation design

The start date is for ASAP but we can wait for the right person's notice period. The initial contract length is for 12 months, with multiple options to extend after. The role is based in Limerick and will require 2-3 days onsite per week, the rest of the time you can work remotely. The rate is €50-65 per hour, depending on experience, if you have any expenses please let me know and I can factor that into the rate for you.
