Job summary

Woodston Personnel Ltd is seeking a Consultant Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon to join our elective orthopaedic and trauma services team in Ireland. The successful applicant will lead operating theatre sessions, manage specialist outpatient clinics, and oversee acute trauma pathways to deliver high-quality, patient-centered surgical care.

Qualifications

• MB BCh BAO (or equivalent) is required.
• FRCS (Tr & Orth) or CSCST or equivalent higher specialist training qualification required.
• Fellowship training with orthopaedic surgery and acute trauma management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead elective and emergency orthopaedic procedures, including joint replacements and complex trauma management.
• Manage specialist outpatient clinics and lead acute trauma call rosters as required by the department.
• Collaborate with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, radiology and nursing teams to optimize rehabilitation pathways.
• Lead governance, risk management, and service design initiatives aligned with national clinical programs.
• Mentor surgical registrars, NSHDs and medical students while engaging in research and professional development.
