Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) invites applications for a part-time Teacher Practitioner – Leadership based at our Dublin campuses. The role is up to 0.5 FTE on a fixed-term 12-month contract, reporting to the Director of Curriculum and working within the School of Medicine.

The post focuses on teaching, co-ordination and examination of undergraduate medical programmes and supports the development of a new curriculum in PPID—Leadership and management skills.

Qualifications

  • Teaching, co-ordination and examining of undergraduate medical teaching programmes.
  • Support development of a new medical curriculum in PPID – Leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation, delivery and assessment in undergraduate programmes with emphasis on small group case-based teaching.
  • Develop and facilitate education sessions on professionalism and leadership.
  • Lead modules and coordinate integrated teaching across disciplines to develop professionalism, leadership and resilience.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, accreditation and examination processes.
  • Engage in student support through personal tutoring and student affairs initiatives.
  • Utilise technology-enhanced learning and participate in teaching and learning strategy.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and clinical staff as appropriate.
