Job summary

InterContinental Recruiting is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer with a strong piping and fabrication background in Ireland. You will lead the CAD team, design piping systems, and ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards.

The role requires active client engagement, excellent communication, and solid knowledge of P&IDs. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Revit and AutoCAD (2D & 3D) is essential, with on-site involvement as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in piping design and fabrication engineering.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Revit and AutoCAD; strong understanding of P&IDs.
• Ability to lead projects and CAD teams and manage client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping design and fabrication activities, including creating piping layouts and diagrams.
• Specify pipe type, size and layout meeting safety and quality standards.
• Oversee fabrication, assembly and installation; conduct tests for safety.
• Lead CAD team to produce drawings, layouts and electronic models per project specs.
• Collaborate with design teams to integrate piping systems into projects.
• Maintain documentation and support field teams during installation.
• Participate in client meetings and communicate technical details clearly.
