Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial performance on a major pharma/mechanical project in Ireland. You’ll own the commercial results from tender through final account and work embedded with delivery teams.

You’ll manage budgets, BOQs, interim valuations, variations and claims, while coordinating with planning and client representatives in a high-spec pharma environment. Strong leadership and stakeholder management required.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as Electrical Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction or MEP projects.
• Experience with pharmaceutical or life sciences projects is advantageous.
• Strong contracts, cost control and commercial reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Take full commercial ownership from tender stage through final account
• Prepare and develop BOQs, budgets and profit plans
• Report on commercial performance to the Project Manager and senior stakeholders
• Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations and final accounts
• Ensure payments and certificates align with subcontract terms and retentions
• Lead monthly applications and capture remeasurements, variations, dayworks and claims
• Identify and manage contract claims and escalations
• Price and agree variations and site changes in real time
• Identify commercial risks early and report to senior management
• Coordinate with Planning Engineer for progress/cost alignment
• Maintain detailed commercial records for reporting and cost tracking
• Lead and contribute to commercial meetings with internal teams and client
• Negotiate confidently with clients and their representatives
