Job summary

Fluor Corp in Cork, Ireland, seeks a Senior Electrical QS/Estimator to own and develop the company’s estimating and commercial function. This senior role blends electrical estimating, quantity surveying and commercial management across a varied portfolio of industrial, commercial and healthcare projects.

The candidate will manage tender from enquiry to handover, work with directors and site teams, and mentor junior QS resources while maintaining accurate commercial records.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
• Ability to carry out detailed take-offs from electrical schematics.
• Experience across industrial, commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or similar environments would be desirable.
• Experience mentoring colleagues or leading an estimating function is advantageous.
• Proficient in Excel and estimating/project management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating and QS function, developing commercial processes.
• Oversee tender lifecycle from enquiry through take-off, pricing, tender review and handover.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender docs to identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare detailed electrical and M&E cost estimates including labour, materials and preliminaries.
• Issue and manage supplier and subcontractor enquiries and evaluate quotations.
• Provide commercial management across live projects: budgets, cost tracking, variations and final accounts.
• Collaborate with Directors, site teams, clients, consultants and suppliers.
• Ensure structured handover from tender to operations and capture lessons learned.
