Red Chair Recruitmentis hiring aLead Data Engineerfor a rapidly growing tech company in retail analytics and financial automation.

You’ll take ownership of building a new cloud data platform as the business moves from on-prem SQL Server/SSIS to a modern cloud environment. This is a hands‑on technical lead role with real influence over architecture, tooling, and data strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of a new cloud data platform.
• Migrate SQL Server, SSIS, and Python workflows to the cloud.
• Build scalable ingestion pipelines for ePOS, accounting, and third‑party data.
• Implement data quality, validation, monitoring, and lineage.
• Optimise Power BI datasets and performance.
• Partner with software engineering on integrations.
• Define standards for modelling, cost control, and operational excellence.

Experience & Skills

• 5+ years in data engineering or data platform development.
• Cloud data platform experience (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Skilled in modern pipelines, orchestration, and transformations.
• Power BI modelling and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of governance, lineage, and reliability.

Nice to Have: ADF, dbt, Airflow; AI/ML exposure; retail/financial/SaaS experience; CI/CD for data platforms.
