Irish Cancer Society is seeking a Cancer Nurse to lead the Daffodil Centre at St. James Hospital, Dublin 8.
This permanent full-time role (35 hours) or part-time/job share involves delivering expert cancer information, education and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals, with supervision of volunteers. The ideal candidate is an registered general nurse with oncology experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to professional development.
Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse on the active NMBI register.
- Post-registration cancer nursing qualification (diploma level).
- Minimum three years' recent cancer nursing experience.
- Ability to lead, manage volunteers and liaise with hospital teams.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Daffodil Centre within the hospital.
- Promote the service and raise awareness in hospital and community.
- Provide specialist cancer information and support to patients and carers.
- Deliver patient education programmes.
- Manage and mentor Daffodil Centre volunteers.
- Develop information resources and maintain materials.
